In plain words

O Beloved One, my thirst for You will not go away — and I would not want it to. The stranger thing is this: the more of Your Water I drink, the more I long for You. This thirst is not a lack. It is love that keeps growing.

With something you truly love, being near it doesn't end the longing — it makes the longing grow, and that's a joy.
The deeper layer

Where the previous shabad ended with thirst quenched, this one opens with a beautiful paradox (Kabir loves ulat-baasee, "upside-down" language): the thirst deepens even in the Water. Jal meh agan uthee adhikaa-ay — "a fire rises higher within the very Water." This is not frustration; it is the way real love works — being close to the Beloved makes you want to be closer still. The Rahao holds the whole shabad's mood: longing that grows sweeter, not more painful, the more it is fed.

A Question to Sit With

Is there something you love so much that spending time with it only makes you want more of it?
