How rare are those humble beings who understand this through the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Once you are truly awake to this quiet wisdom, you do not drift back to sleep. But rare are those who come to understand it through the perfect teacher.

Real awakening does not drift back to sleep -- and it is rare.
The deeper layer

The Rahao: intuitive wisdom, once awakened, is stable -- it does not relapse into sleep (cf. the dye that does not fade). Yet it is rare, and comes through the perfect Guru.

A Question to Sit With

What is a lesson that, once learned, you could never un-know?
