The Same Light in Sun and Moon Fills Everything

ਸੂਰਜ ਚੰਦੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਜੀਆਰਾ ॥
sooraj chand karahi ujee-aaraa.
The sun and the moon give their light;
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
sabh meh pasri-aa barahm pasaaraa. ||2||
God's creative extension extends everywhere. ||2||

In plain words

The sun and the moon pour out their light for everyone.

And the same creative power spreads through all of it — through every last thing.

The same light that shines in the sun and moon spreads through everything.
The deeper layer

Here Kabir answers his own riddle. The One is spread through everything, and that is what holds it all.

Sooraj chand karahi ujee-aaraa — the sun and the moon give their light. Sabh meh pasri-aa barahm pasaaraa — the creative spreading of Barahm, the One, reaches into everything.

So the sky does not hang on a hook or stand on a pillar. One creative reality is spread through all of it. Think of WiFi in a house. You cannot see it, but it fills every room. The sun, the moon, the stars, and you are all part of the same unfolding.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you notice the same aliveness showing up in very different things?
