If you hold back, then I shall strike you with the whip of spiritual love. ||2||

Come now — let me ride you all the way home to the highest place.
And if you hold back, I'll urge you gently on with the whip of love.
When your mind hesitates, love is what moves it forward — not harshness.
When the mind drags its feet, love is what moves it forward.
Kabir talks to his own mind the way a rider talks to a horse. Even the "whip" here is prem, love. When the mind holds back, it is love that gets it going, not fear or harshness. Think of a coach who cheers you on when you are tired, instead of yelling.
The goal is baikunth, often called heaven. Here it simply means being fully at home in the One.
A Question to Sit With
What moves you forward better — being scared, or being loved?
