In plain words

O my Beloved, life is like milk waiting to be churned.

When you keep your mind steady and gentle, the way a good teaching shows you, the churning slowly brings up something sweet and nourishing — like drinking the sweetest nectar there is.

A steady, gentle mind churns ordinary life into something sweet and nourishing.
The deeper layer

This one says a steady mind churns ordinary life into something sweet.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Mayray raam aisaa kheer bilo-ee-ai — O my Lord, this is the milk to churn. Churning is how milk is turned into butter.

Gurmat manoo-aa asthir raakho — with gurmat, the Guru's teaching, keep the manoo-aa, the mind, asthir, steady. In bidh amrit pee-o-ee-ai — this is how you drink amrit, the sweet nectar of knowing the One.

Kabir turns spiritual practice into a homely kitchen picture any child understands. Think of stirring and stirring a pot of milk for a festival sweet. It takes patience, but the steady effort turns ordinary milk into something rich.

A Question to Sit With

What is something in your life that only turns "sweet" when you stick with it patiently?
