The drowning person is blown around in the ten directions by the wind, but I hold tight to the string of the Lord's Love. ||3||

In plain words

Illusion can pull people this way and that, tossing them around like a strong wind, until they feel adrift.

But I hold tight to one steady thread — the thread of love for the One — and it keeps me anchored no matter which way the wind blows.

When everything is tossing you around, one steady thread of love keeps you anchored.
The deeper layer

This one says that one steady thread of love keeps you anchored when life tosses you around.

Tin bin baanai dhanakh chadhaa-ee-ai — Maya, the world's pull, has drawn a bow with no arrow. Ih jag baydhi-aa bhaa-ee — and yet it has pierced this whole world, O brothers and sisters.

Dah dis boodee pavan jhulaavai — people are blown around in the dah dis, all ten directions, by the wind, like someone lost at sea. In plain words, they feel tossed about and adrift.

Dor rahee liv laa-ee — but I hold tight to the dor, the string, of liv, loving attention to the One. Think of a kite on a gusty day. The wind pulls every which way, but the string in your hand keeps it from flying off.

It is the same idea as the churning. Steadiness held from the inside keeps you safe in rough times.

A Question to Sit With

What is your "steady thread" — the thing that keeps you grounded when life feels turbulent?
