In plain words

The restless mind has finally settled into stillness. Being pulled two ways and muddled thinking have run off and left me in peace.

Kabir says: I have caught one clear glimpse of the One, the Fearless One. Now my whole heart is tuned to the One's Name.

One clear glimpse of the wonder beyond fear tunes the whole heart to the One.
The deeper layer

This one says that one clear glimpse of the Fearless One tunes the whole heart.

Unman manoo-aa sunn samaanaa — the restless mind is lifted up and settles into sunn, deep stillness. Dubidhaa durmat bhaagee — dubidhaa, being pulled two ways, and durmat, muddled thinking, run away.

Kaho kabeer anbha-o ik daykhi-aa — says Kabir, I have seen the One, the anbha-o, the Fearless One. This is direct, wonder-filled experience. Raam naam liv laagee — now my heart is tuned to the Name.

Kabir does not argue his way there. He sees it once, and that glimpse tunes everything, like a guitar string brought into tune by one clear note. The whole shabad has moved from churning, to light, to the anchoring thread, to this steady tuning.

A Question to Sit With

Can you remember a moment of pure wonder that quietly changed how you saw everything?
