The Unreachable One Is Found in Good Company

ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਲਹੀਐ ॥

The Inaccessible and Unfathomable Lord dwells there within Himself; by Guru's Grace, He is found.

Says Kabir, I am a sacrifice to my Guru; I remain in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||4||48||

In plain words

The One beyond reaching and beyond fully understanding dwells right here, without a break, all through. By grace, we come to find it.

Kabir says: I give myself in gratitude to my Guru. I love to stay in the good company of those who seek together.

The One beyond all reaching is found, by grace, in the warm company of fellow seekers.
The deeper layer

This one says the One beyond reach is found, by grace, in good company.

Agam agochar rahai nirantar — the One is agam, beyond reach, and agochar, beyond what our senses can grasp. And yet the One is nirantar: present all the way through, without a single gap. Gur kirpaa tay lahee-ai — by the Guru's grace, the One is found. It is received, not earned.

Then Kabir brings these big words down to something warm and close. Satsangat mil rahee-ai — stay together in the satsangat, the good company of fellow seekers. Think of friends who help each other learn and grow. The deep stillness is reached together with others.

Kaho kabeer bal jaa-o gur apunay — Kabir says, I give myself in thanks to my Guru.

A Question to Sit With

Who are the people you feel most peaceful and "at home" with, seeking good things together?
