Reflect on Wise Words and Grace Sets You Right

ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
saahib ho-ay da-i-aal kirpaa karay apunaa kaaraj savaaray.
When the Lord and Master is kind and grants His Grace, then her affairs are all resolved.
ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
taa sohagan jaanee-ai gur sabad beechaaray. ||3||
Then she is known as the happy soul-bride, if she contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3||

In plain words

When kindness and grace are near, everything a heart needs gets quietly set right.

Such a heart is called truly blessed and joyful — the kind that keeps turning over the wise, guiding words and letting them sink in.

When grace is near, a heart that reflects on wise words is quietly set right.
The deeper layer

Here the tone brightens: saahib ho-ay da-i-aal — when the Lord is kind and grace flows, "her affairs are all resolved." The soul becomes sohagan — the happy, united bride — through gur sabad beechaaray, reflecting on the Guru's word. This is the shabad's turn toward hope: readiness is not anxious effort but opening to grace, which sets things right of its own accord.

A Question to Sit With

What wise words help you feel calm and "set right" when you turn them over in your mind?
