In plain words

Picture a great length of cloth being woven — so many yards, all worked into one whole piece.

Threads by the dozen, joints on the loom, everything measured and joined together with care. A whole life is being woven, thread by thread.

A whole life is like cloth on a loom — woven, thread by thread, into one piece.
The deeper layer

Kabir was a weaver by trade, and here he turns his own craft into a picture of a human life: the body and its days are cloth on a loom, woven from countless threads and joints. The numbers (nine, ten, twenty-one yards; sixty threads; seventy-two) are the loom-vocabulary of his trade, spoken with a craftsman's easy pride. His weaver identity is worn here with dignity, not shame — the loom becomes his window onto the deepest truths.

A Question to Sit With

What "threads" — days, choices, kindnesses — are being woven into the cloth of your life right now?
