In plain words

Someone may sing the One's Name, or listen to it with a whole and attentive heart.

Kabir says there is no doubt: in the end, that heart arrives at the very highest peace.

Sung or listened to with a whole heart, the Name carries you all the way home.
The deeper layer

Sing the Name or listen to it with your whole heart, and it will carry you home.

Kabir ends warmly and with certainty. Ko-ee gaavai ko sunai har naamaa chit laa-ay — whoever sings the Name, or listens to it, with the mind fully there. Chit laa-ay means with full attention. Such a person reaches param gat, the highest state. Sansaa nahee — there is no doubt about it.

Kabir names two simple, joyful practices: singing, and Suniai, deep listening. Both work when the heart is really there. Think of singing along to a song you love, instead of half-humming while you scroll. The flame that joined the greater light at the start of this shabad finds its rest here. Sung or heard with love, the Name brings the soul to peace.

A Question to Sit With

Do you notice a difference between singing or hearing something with your whole heart, and just half-listening?
