One Giver, One Hand Behind Every Gift

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਜੁ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥
kaho kabeer bhaj saarigpaanee.
Says Kabir, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth.
ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਸਭ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੦॥੬੧॥
urvaar paar sabh ayko daanee. ||4||2||10||61||
In this world, in the world beyond and everywhere, He alone is the Giver. ||4||2||10||61||

In plain words

Says Kabir: remember the One who holds up the whole earth.

Here, and beyond, and everywhere at once — there is only One Giver, and every good thing comes from that One hand.

Here, beyond, and everywhere — there is only One Giver, and one hand behind every gift.
The deeper layer

This one says there is only One Giver, here and everywhere.

Kaho kabeer bhaj saarigpaanee — says Kabir, remember saarigpaanee, the One who holds up the earth. Urvaar paar sabh ayko daanee — on this side, on the far side, everywhere, there is only One Giver.

So there is one Giver and one hand. There is no split between here and there, us and them, this tradition and that. This is Ik Onkar, the One that is everything, made warm and practical.

Think of a family where every birthday gift secretly comes from Grandma. Once you know, you know who to thank. If everything flows from one Source, thankfulness has one true direction. And no one is outside the circle of that giving.

A Question to Sit With

If every good thing came from the same Source, how might that change the way you say thank you?
