The Path Is an Adventure, Better With Companions

ko banjaaro raam ko mayraa taaNdaa laadi-aa jaa-ay ray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Is there any merchant of the Lord to join me? My cargo is loaded, and now I am leaving. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Is there any fellow trader of the Beloved who'll travel with me?

My load is packed, and now I'm setting out.

The path is an adventure — and it's better with fellow travelers.
The deeper layer

The rahao is a warm call for company: is there another merchant of the Beloved to join me? Ravidas turns the whole spiritual life into an adventure — a caravan setting out, looking for fellow travelers. It's an invitation to sangat, community, the joy of walking the path together. "My cargo is loaded, I'm leaving" gives it momentum and readiness — he's not waiting around; he's already on the move, and he'd love friends alongside.

A Question to Sit With

Who are the people you'd most want beside you on a long, important journey?
