In plain words

A frog in a deep well knows nothing but its own small circle of water — it can't even imagine faraway lands.

In just that way, my mind, caught up in shallow things, hasn't yet seen how vast You are, here and beyond.

Sometimes our whole world is just a small well — and there's a vast ocean waiting to be seen.
The deeper layer

Ravidas opens with a wonderful, humble picture: the frog in the well. The frog thinks its little pool is the whole world — it has no idea of rivers, oceans, distant countries. Ravidas says, gently and honestly, that's me right now — my mind, absorbed in small and shallow things (bikhiaa, the pull of surface cravings), hasn't yet glimpsed how immense the Beloved really is. It's not self-hatred; it's a humble, clear admission that opens the whole song: I know my view is small — so please widen it.

A Question to Sit With

What's something that once felt like your whole world, until you discovered how much bigger reality was?
