Love Reaches Where Cleverness Never Can

Even the great Yogis cannot describe Your Glorious Virtues; they are beyond words.

I am dedicated to Your loving devotional worship, says Ravi Daas the tanner. ||3||1||

In plain words

Even the greatest seekers and yogis can't fully put Your endless goodness into words.

But loving devotion opens the door — and that, says Ravidas the tanner, is the path I've given my heart to.

Love reaches where cleverness and technique never can.
The deeper layer

The close is quietly triumphant. Ravidas admits the Beloved is beyond even the greatest yogis' descriptions (jogeesar) — no amount of technique or cleverness can capture the One in words. But — and here's the joy — prem bhagat, loving devotion, reaches where words and technique can't. The frog can't think its way out of the well, but love can lift it. So Ravidas gives his heart to that path of love, signing once more, with dignity, as chamaar. Love, open to everyone regardless of learning or birth, is the door.

A Question to Sit With

When has love or care taught you something that no amount of studying could?
