The mind is restrained, and one attains joy, contemplating the One Lord, who is both with and without qualities. ||7||

In plain words

Through loving devotion, the mind gets soaked in what is real; doubt, tangles, and inner troubles fall away.

The mind grows still and full of quiet joy, resting in the One — who is both beyond all form and present in everything.

Loving devotion soaks the mind in what's real, and the knots simply fall away.
The deeper layer

Here Ravidas gives his answer to "how do I get across?" The answer is loving devotion.

Bhagat means loving devotion to the One. Through it, the mind becomes soaked in sat, what is real and true. Then doubt, tangles and inner troubles are cut away. It is like a knotted shoelace soaked in water. The knot loosens and slips free.

The mind grows still and full of ras, a quiet, sweet joy.

Then Ravidas says something beautiful about the One. The One is both gun and nirgun. Gun means "with qualities": present in every form and every living being. Nirgun means "beyond qualities": without any shape, beyond all words. It is one reality, seen two ways at once. Love is what lets you rest in that mystery.

A Question to Sit With

What fills you with a quiet, settled joy — the kind that makes worries loosen their grip?
