Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Let me see you, O One; all my hope is in you. Pour your mercy on me and fill the longing in my heart.

Show me yourself, and fill the longing -- the prayer of a heart that hopes only in the One.
The deeper layer

The Rahao is a prayer for darshan (the blessed vision) and the fulfillment of longing by mercy. The structure is pure dependence: hope placed in the One, the longing filled not by the seeker's effort but by grace (viraha).

A Question to Sit With

What is a deep longing you carry? What would it feel like to have it filled?
