In plain words

You made them all, and you fill them all; you know every heart. What can us poor creatures really do? This whole play is yours. And I am simply a servant, bought in your market, the servant of your servants.

The whole drama is the One's -- and the truest place is the humble servant of its servants.
The deeper layer

The shabad ends by handing everything back to the One.

Ik Onkar means there is one Creator behind all things. Hukam is the flow of existence, the way the One's will moves through everything. The One made everyone, lives inside everyone, and knows every heart. Sabh khayl tum su-aamee — this whole play is Yours, Master.

So the creatures stop acting as if they run the show. Guru Ram Das takes the lowest place of all: gulam gulaamee, the servant of the servants. Picture a big school play where the actors know who wrote it, built the stage, and turned on the lights.

The shabad began with a portrait of forgetting. It ends in giving yourself over completely.

A Question to Sit With

What changes when you see life as a "play" you are part of rather than one you control?
