My mind, do not let doubt take over. When you finally let go and trust the Name, you get to drink that sweetness yourself.
This one says: let go of doubt, and you get to taste the sweetness yourself.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Ray man mayray bharam na keejai — O my mind, do not give in to doubt. Bharam is doubt, the restless wobbling of the mind. It is the one thing standing in the way.
The cure is to let go and trust. Man maanee-ai amrit ras peejai — when the mind accepts, it drinks the sweet nectar. This accepting is mannai: the mind agreeing and lining up with the One. Think of a kid at the edge of the pool, not sure the water will hold her. The moment she trusts it and jumps, she is swimming. Trusting is what lets the sweetness be tasted.
What is one thing doubt keeps you from fully trying or trusting?
