Real Love Shows Up as Clean Actions

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥

They are in love with the Supreme Lord God;

their actions are pure, and their lifestyle is true.

The Perfect Guru has dispelled the darkness.

In plain words

Their heart is bound in love to the One. What they do comes out clean, and the way they live rings true.

The complete teaching has swept the darkness away. For the One I belong to is beyond measure, beyond every edge — infinite.

Real love shows up as clean actions and a true way of living.
The deeper layer

This one says real love shows up in clean actions and an honest life.

paarbarahm si-o laagee pareet — their love is fixed on the One beyond all limits. And that love shows. nirmal karnee saachee reet — their actions are pure, and their way of living is true. Karnee means what you do. Reet means your way of life.

Think of saying "I love you" to your family. The words matter. But helping clear the table says it too.

gur poorai mayti-aa anDhi-aaraa — the complete Guru has wiped away the darkness. Then the shabad names the One: apar apaaraa, beyond every edge, without end.

So the shabad closes where such songs usually land. Love turns into pure action. Darkness is gone. And the One is named as endless.

A Question to Sit With

How can you tell when someone truly loves something — by what they say, or by how they live?
