When Two-Mindedness Clears, the Heart Leans In

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਭਾਗੈ ॥

Meeting the True Guru, duality is dispelled.

The heart-lotus blossoms forth, and the mind is attached to the Lord God.
ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਆਗੈ ॥੨॥
jeevat marai mahaa ras aagai. ||2||
One who remains dead while yet alive obtains the greatest happiness hereafter. ||2||

In plain words

Meet the teacher and your double-mindedness clears away. The heart-flower opens, and your mind leans into the One. Whoever dies while still alive finds the greatest happiness there is.

When two-mindedness clears, the heart opens and leans toward the One.
The deeper layer

Duality, two-mindedness, is dispelled; the heart-lotus blossoms (the same blossoming as the Suniai pauris of Japji). Attachment shifts from the world to the One. The reward of the ego-death is the deepest happiness.

A Question to Sit With

When has your mind been pulled in two directions? What helped it settle?
