gur kee pa-orhee oocho oochaa.
Climbing up the steps of the Guru's Path, one becomes the highest of the high.

When the Lord grants His Mercy, the fear of death is conquered. ||3||

In plain words

With the teacher you grow truthful, clean, and clear. Step by step you climb, until you stand among the highest. And when grace touches you, even the fear of death is beaten.

Truth and grace together climb you above even the fear of death.
The deeper layer

Realization is a climb -- ascending the steps of the Guru's path -- making one high. But the summit is reached by Grace, not by climbing alone. The fruit is the conquest of the fear of death.

A Question to Sit With

What is one small "step" you could take toward being more truthful?
