Every hope and every wish inside me is Yours, my Master -- however You stir hope in me, that is the hope I hold.
Nothing rests in anyone's hands alone; this is the understanding the Guru opened up in me.
Nanak says, You alone know what my heart is hoping for -- and one glimpse of You (Darshan, the moment of seeing the One) fills me all the way up.
Even your hoping belongs to the One. Aasaa mansaa sabh tayree -- hope and desire themselves belong to the One; even the hoping is the One's own movement in us. Kichh kisee kai hath naahee, nothing rests in anyone's hands alone, is the boojh (understanding) the satgur (the True Guru) awakens. And the resolution is not getting what we hoped for, but har darsan -- one true sight of the One, which brings triptaa-ee, complete contentment. Hope finds its rest not in getting, but in seeing.
What would it feel like to be completely content -- not from getting something, but just from seeing clearly?
