Always Our Help, Always Near

ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਇ ॥

The Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam, is always our help and support.
ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥

Embrace love for the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam.
ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਜਪਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਭਏ ॥

Through the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam, I have become immaculate.

The sins of countless incarnations have been taken away. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is always our help and support; I let my heart rest in loving it.

Holding the Name, I have grown clear and clean, and the weight of old mistakes has lifted away.

The One is always near as help — and resting in it lifts old weight away.
The deeper layer

Raam ... sadaa sahaa-ay — always the help. Liv laa-ay — to attune, to fasten the heart in love. The fruit is nirmal bha-ay — becoming clear — and kilbikh ga-ay, the lifting of long-carried mistakes. The tone is release, never accusation.

A Question to Sit With

What is a weight you have carried a long time that you would love to set down?
