In plain words

Serving the One with love — that is my incense and my lamp.

Again and again, I bow with gratitude to the Maker.

I have set everything else aside and taken shelter with the One.

By great good fortune, the Teacher's kindness has settled over me.

Real worship isn't the incense and lamp — it's the loving service they stand for.
The deeper layer

This shabad quietly reworks temple ritual from the inside. Dhoop deep sayvaa gopaal — incense and lamps, the outward tools of worship, are redefined as service done in love. The teaching is not that ritual is wrong, but that its real substance is the loving act it points toward. Sabh ti-aag (renouncing all) is softened to setting other supports aside to lean on the One; the good fortune named is grace, the Teacher's favor arriving unearned.

A Question to Sit With

What is a small act of care that could be your kind of 'incense'?
