The Name Is Your Defender Forever

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ਭਜੁ ਸਦਾ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ॥

O my mind, vibrate, and meditate on the Lord's Name, which shall be your defender forever.

One who obtains the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, through the Word of the Guru's Teachings - no one else's power is as great as his. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O my mind, let the Name turn inside you — it is your shelter and defender, always.

One who reaches the home of the One through the teaching stands beyond any other power on earth.

The Name is a shelter that never shuts its door on you.
The deeper layer

The rahau. Deebaan means a protector or a court of appeal — the Name is the one that never closes its doors. To reach the 'mansion of the One' (har mahal) gur bachnee — through the Guru's word — is to arrive at a strength no worldly power can match, because it is not borrowed from status.

A Question to Sit With

What makes you feel truly protected — not just safe, but held?
