Raag Gond, The Word Of Ravi Daas Jee, Second House:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਜਪਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥

Meditate on the Lord Mukanday, the Liberator, O people of the world.
ਬਿਨੁ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਉਹਾਰ ॥

Without Mukanday, the body shall be reduced to ashes.

Mukanday is the Giver of liberation.

In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Keep the Liberator, the One who sets us free, close in your heart, all you people of the world.

Without that One, the body is just passing dust — but the One who frees us is my mother and my father together.

The One who frees us is the truest parent — always claiming you, never disowning you.
The deeper layer

Mukand (Mukanday) is a beloved name for the One — the Liberator, the giver of mukti, freedom. Ravidas repeats it like a heartbeat. So-ee mukand hamraa pit maataa — the One is both father and mother, the whole of belonging. For Ravidas, a cobbler-saint the world ranked low, the One as parent is a claim of complete, unearned dignity: whoever else may disown you, the Liberator does not.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to know something loves you and will never let you go?
