Everything is under His control; He is the greatest of all. O my mind, meditate forever on Him.

O Servant Nanak, that Lord is always with you. Meditate forever on your Lord, and He shall emancipate you. ||4||5||

Everything rests in the One's care, and the One is greater than all — so I keep the One in my mind always.
That One is right beside me even now; the more I turn toward it, the more freely I live.
The greatest One of all is also the One standing right beside you.
The closing verse gathers the shabad: jis dai vas sabh kichh — everything is in the One's keeping, so the One is sabh doo vadaa (greatest of all). Nanak's reassurance so har naal hai tayrai — that One is with you — turns greatness into intimacy. To be 'set free' (chhada-ee-ai) is to live unbound by fear, because you are never actually alone.
A Question to Sit With
How would today feel different if you truly believed you were never alone?
