Raag Devgandhaari, Fifth Mehl (Guru Arjan)

The fear of death met by loosening the grip of 'mine.'

(Filed in the 06-Raag-Goojaree folder, which spans into Raag Devgandhaari.)

The Arc

Candid about death-fear, answered by letting go of 'mine and yours' and taking shelter (P0); trusting acceptance, and the real death as forgetting (P1); the One patient with our ignorance, our smallness held by a larger bliss (P2).

Translation Notes

  • P2 the self-lowering ("worthless, ugly, of low birth") is rendered as an honest sense of smallness held by a larger joy, not self-contempt, per the voice rules.
