Like a dog's tail, it can't be straightened; it won't listen to a word I say.
Nanak says: keep saying the One's Name always, and all your affairs will come right.
The close gives the famous image — "like a dog's tail, it cannot be straightened" — the stubborn mind that springs back to its old shape no matter how you press it. But the shabad does not end in despair. The remedy is not more forcing (which failed) but "vibrate forever the Name of the Lord" — and then "all your affairs shall be adjusted." You do not straighten the tail by wrestling it; you change the mind by filling it with the Name, and the rest sorts itself out.
