In plain words

The One's humble servant has no schemes, no politics, no clever tricks.

Whenever the moment comes, right there, they simply turn their mind to the One.

The freed life isn't more sophisticated than the anxious one — it's simpler, unburdened of all the games and scheming.
The deeper layer

People who truly love the One live simply.

Guru Arjan, the fifth Guru, paints a picture of the One's servant. Mataa masoorat avar si-aanap — plans, scheming and clever tricks. Jan ka-o kachhoo na aa-i-o — the servant has none of these. Many of us think all that maneuvering is what makes a person smart. Here it is simply set down.

In its place is one plain habit. Jah jah a-osar aa-ay bani-o hai — wherever the moment comes, tahaa tahaa har Dhi-aa-i-o — right there, they turn their mind to the One. It is not a set time on a schedule. It is like reaching for a friend's hand without thinking. The free life is not fancier than the worried one. It is simpler and lighter, with the games put down.

A Question to Sit With

What 'clever tricks' do you carry that you might actually be lighter and freer without?
