Real Devotion Is a Mind Soaked All the Way Through

har mayree pareet reet hai har mayree har mayree kathaa kahaanee jee.
The Lord is my Love, the Lord is my way of life, the Lord is my speech and conversation.
gur parsaad mayraa man bheejai ayhaa sayv banee jee-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By Guru's Grace, my mind is saturated with the Lord's Love; this is what makes up my service. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

The One is my love. The One is how I live. The One is the language on my tongue and the talk in my day.

By grace, my mind is soaked through with that love — and that soaking, that is what I mean by service. Not chores; a mind dyed all the way through.

Real devotion isn't a religious hour — it's a mind soaked all the way through, coloring an ordinary day.
The deeper layer

The Pause line redefines devotion beautifully: not ritual acts but a mind saturated. The One becomes the person's love, their way of living, their very speech — devotion spread across a whole ordinary day rather than sealed into a religious hour. The key word is grace: the saturation is given ("by Guru's Grace"), not achieved by force. Service, then, is a state of being soaked, not a list of tasks — which is why it can be done in the middle of any life.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you love so much it quietly shows up in how you talk and live, without you trying?
