In plain words

With every breath I turn Your Name over in my heart; You alone are what I long for.

Nanak says: the Creator is my support, and I have let go of every other hope.

Letting go of your scattered backup hopes isn't despair — it's the rest of finally leaning your whole weight on one true support.
The deeper layer

The close narrows to a single-hearted focus: the Name on "each and every breath," longing "for You alone," and the release of "all other hopes." This letting-go of other hopes is not despair but simplification — the peace of no longer scattering your heart across a dozen fragile expectations. When one true support is found, the anxious portfolio of backup hopes can be set down. Single-heartedness is a kind of rest.

A Question to Sit With

How many small hopes are you anxiously juggling? What would it feel like to rest your weight on one?
