After Fear Is Swept Away, Not Just Relief but Dignity

ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਤਾਰਣ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਣ ॥

You are the Remover of the pains of the poor, the Savior, the Compassionate Lord, the Bestower of Mercy.

Remembering the Naam in meditation, the state of eternal dignity is obtained; Nanak has grasped the protection of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||3||29||

In plain words

You lift the pain of the poor, You save, You are kind, You give mercy freely.

Remembering the Name, a lasting dignity is reached; Nanak has grasped the One's protection.

What remains after fear is swept away is not just relief but dignity — the quiet, unshakeable worth of knowing Whose you are.
The deeper layer

The close piles up the One's tender titles — remover of pain, savior, compassionate, giver of mercy — and names the fruit as "the state of eternal dignity." This dignity is worth noting: not pride, not status won over others, but the settled, unshakeable worth of one who rests in the One's protection. After doubt and fear were swept away (P0), what remains is not just relief but dignity — the quiet standing of a person who knows Whose they are.

A Question to Sit With

What would it feel like to carry a dignity that no one could give you and no one could take?
