In plain words

They grew rich, loaded with the One's treasures — people who had not even had clothes.

The foolish and senseless became wise and patient, touched by the One's gracious glance.

No one's starting point is their destiny under grace — the destitute grow rich, the foolish grow wise, by a single look of favor.
The deeper layer

With one kind look from the One, the poor become rich and the foolish become wise.

Hot jinaa na cheer — people who did not even have clothes. They became Dhanaadh, rich, full of the One's treasures. Then khal mugaDh moorh, the foolish and the senseless, became gun mat Dheer, good, wise and patient.

What changed them? Kataakh-y sareeDhar — one gracious glance from the Lord of all wealth. It was not their own cleverness or hard work. It was a look of favor.

Think of a new kid sitting alone at lunch. A kind teacher smiles and pulls up a chair. From that one moment, everything can start to change. Here the raag joins two of its favorite ideas. Everyone is equal before the One, and anyone can be changed by grace. Where a person starts, poor or foolish, does not decide where they end up.

A Question to Sit With

What 'starting point' do you assume is fixed about yourself? What if it isn't your destiny?
