Shalok, Fifth Mehl:

O Friend, I pray that I may remain forever the dust of Your Feet.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ਪੇਖਉ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥

Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary, and beholds You ever-present. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Friend, I pray to stay forever the dust of Your feet.
Nanak has come into Your shelter and sees You everywhere, ever-present.
Humility clears the vision — the one who wants nothing for the ego is exactly the one who sees the One everywhere.
A short Shalok on the humblest wish — to be "the dust of Your Feet" — paired with its reward: "beholds You ever-present." There is a quiet logic here: the one who takes the lowest place, wanting nothing for the ego, is exactly the one clear-eyed enough to see the One "everywhere." Humility clears the vision; the dust at the feet sees what the proud, upright head misses.
A Question to Sit With
How might wanting less for yourself actually help you see more of what's really there?
