In plain words

Kabir's mother weeps and frets: if he keeps giving his days to the One instead of the loom, how will the grandchildren eat?

It is the honest worry of a family watching someone follow their heart over their trade.

The worry of loved ones when you reorder life around something they can't see the paycheck in is real — and honored here.
The deeper layer

This tender, human shabad opens with a mother's very real anxiety: her son Kabir, a weaver, is neglecting the family craft for devotion, and she fears for the grandchildren's bread. It is a completely relatable tension — the worry of loved ones when someone reorders their life around something they can't see the paycheck in. The shabad honors the worry even as it answers it.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever worried about someone following their heart over the 'safe' path — or been that someone?
