In plain words

If you want to escape the fear of death, then joyfully praise the One and do good.

Past, present, future — it is always the same, deepest joy itself.

Praise and good deeds together — worship and ethics held as one — are the antidote, grounded in an unchanging One.
The deeper layer

This line gives two things to do when the fear of death comes: praise gladly, and do good.

Jas savast sukarit kirt-aN — sing the One's praise with joy, and do good deeds. Notice the pair. Praise and action. Loving the One and being kind to people. They are held together, never split apart.

What makes both of them steady? The One never changes. Bhav bhoot bhaav — past, present and future, the One is always the same, the very form of the highest joy.

Think of the North Star. Other stars seem to move across the night sky, but it stays in its place. Sailors trusted it for that reason. Worry about the future eases when we tie ourselves to what doesn't change. Praise gladly, act kindly, and rest on the One who stays the same.

A Question to Sit With

Do your worship and your actions point the same way, or has one gotten ahead of the other?
