I met the Fascinating Lord, who has blessed me with all comforts; He does not leave me to go anywhere else.

I have seen the mortals of many and various types, but they are not equal to even a hair of my Beloved. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I met the enchanting One who gave me every comfort; it doesn't leave for anywhere else.
I've seen people of every kind, and none of them equals even a hair of my Beloved.
Once you've known the One, other loves — real as they are — can't rival it; the Beloved is in a category of its own.
The verse measures every other love against the One and finds them all lighter — "not equal to even a hair of my Beloved." This is not contempt for people but the discovery of an incomparable love. Once you have known the One, other affections, real as they are, cannot rival it. The Beloved is in a category of its own.
A Question to Sit With
Have you known a love so complete that it reframed how you saw every other?
