The company of the good became a boat to carry me over the frightening ocean.
I drink the nectar and my doubts shatter; Nanak says, now I can bear what once felt unbearable.
"The Saadh Sangat has assumed the form of a boat" — one of the raag's warmest images (echoing Sukhmani's stone-in-the-boat, and Gauree's Guru-as-boat). The good company is the vessel that carries you over the ocean you could never swim. And the final line is quietly profound: "I can bear the unbearable" (sahaj sahaj sukh). Not that the hard things stop being hard, but that the one carried by the Sangat and drinking the nectar finds a new capacity — able to bear what would have broken him alone. This is what good company and grace actually give: not a life without weight, but the strength to carry weight that once seemed impossible.
Has being carried by good people ever helped you bear something you couldn't have handled alone?
