Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Through the shelter of the One's feet, all beings are saved.
Hearing of the One's glory, the mind becomes fearless.
Nothing at all is lacking when one gathers the wealth of the Name.
The company of the good is found through very good deeds.
All day and night, hold the One in mind, and keep listening to its praise.
The Pauree gathers the fruits of the rescue: all beings saved, the mind made fearless, and — a lovely line — "nothing at all is lacking, when one gathers the wealth of the Naam." The one with the Name lacks nothing, because the Name is the wealth that contains all wealth (as in Anand Sahib's "what is not in Your house?"). And how is the good company found? "By very good deeds" — a reminder that grace and effort work together: you cannot manufacture the Sangat, but a life of genuine goodness draws you toward it. The Pauree ends with the steady practice — remember and listen, day and night. The rescued life is a fearless, lacking-nothing life, sustained by continual remembrance.
What would it feel like to lack nothing — not because you have everything, but because you have the one thing that makes the rest unnecessary?
