Wood is produced from water, but by holding onto wood, one is saved from drowning.

In plain words

Wood grows from water, and holding on to wood keeps you from drowning.

The One makes the One's own people beautiful and lifts them up, staying true to the One's own nature.

What lifts you up may come from the very place you feared to sink.
The deeper layer

The One always lifts up whoever leans on the One. That is simply the One's nature.

Jal tay opat bha-ee hai kaasat: wood grows from water, since trees drink rain to grow. Yet that same wood keeps you afloat when you are in the water. What comes from the water saves you from the water.

Apnaa birad rakhaavaigo: the One keeps true to the One's own nature. That nature is to lift whoever holds on. Think of a swimming float in a pool. It does not choose who to hold up. It just floats, for anyone who grabs it. Grace stays faithful to itself.

A Question to Sit With

What has surprised you by holding you up when you needed it?
