Raag Kaanraa
The Commentary
Raag Kaanraa opens under the full Mool Mantar. The whole shabad is a hymn to saaDh sangat, the company of those tuned to the One. It turns at the rahau — the mind blossoms and is carried across — then moves through four images: falling humbly at the feet of the wise, the restless mind gathered like fish in a net, the ego washed off like dirt from cloth in soap, and finally the writing of destiny drawing the heart to the Guru and the rescue of the Name.
