Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O my mind, keep the Naam of the One, Har, Har, in your thoughts, and chant it.

The treasure of the One, Har, Har, is locked inside the fortress of Maya, the dazzle of the passing world. Through the word of the Guru's Shabad, I have won the fortress.

The One's treasure can feel locked away, and the Guru's word is the key.
The deeper layer

The treasure of the One is locked behind the dazzle of the world, and the Guru's word wins it for you.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the centre of the shabad. Mayray man har har raam naam jap cheet means "O my mind, chant the Naam of the One with all your attention."

Har har vasat maa-i-aa garheh vayrh(H)ee means "the treasure of the One is shut inside the fortress of Maya." Maya is the pull of shiny, passing things that grab your attention. Gur kai sabad lee-o garh jeet means "through the Guru's word, I won the fortress." Picture a castle with a treasure room deep inside. The Guru's word is the key that opens the gate.

A Question to Sit With

What is something valuable that is easy to overlook because of flashier things?
