Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One's humble servant is in love with the One.

You are my friend, my very best friend. Everything is there in Your home.

When the One is your friend, you already have everything.
The deeper layer

You can love the One the way you love your closest friend, and everything is in the One's home.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the centre of the shabad. Jan ko prabh sangay asnayhu: the One's servant loves the One. Saajno too meet mayraa: You are my friend, my dearest friend. Garihi tayrai sabh kayhu: everything is in Your home, like a grandparent's kitchen where there is always enough for everyone who walks in.

A Question to Sit With

What does it mean to you to call someone your very best friend?
