In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Such is my Sovereign One, who knows every heart from the inside.

The One sees everything as plainly as your own face looking back at you from a mirror.

The One knows you as clearly as a mirror knows your face.
The deeper layer

The One knows your heart completely, the way a mirror shows your face.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line. It is the center of the song, the line you come back to. When you look in a mirror, nothing is hidden. Your face is right there, every freckle and smile. Namdev says the One sees each of us like that. He calls the One antarjaamee, the inner-knower, the One who sees inside every heart. The mirror, darpan, is his main picture. Nothing is hidden, and there is no gap between the One and the heart it sees.

Namdev was a Bhagat, a devotee, loved far beyond his own community. His song begins the last part of Raag Kaanraa.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to be fully seen by someone who loves you?
