Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Sing the praises of the Lord, O my tongue.
Bow humbly to the saints, again and again. Through them, the feet of the Lord of the Universe come to live inside you.
Sing of the One, bow to the holy, and the One comes to live within.
Sing of the One and bow to holy people, and the One comes to live inside you.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the centre of the shabad. Keerat parabh kee gaa-o mayree rasnaaN: sing the One's praise, O my tongue. Anik baar kar bandan santan: bow to the saints, over and over. Charan gobind jee kay: the feet of the Lord of the Universe, an old way of speaking of the One's own presence, come to stay within you.
