In plain words

I gladly kiss the feet of the True Guru, again and again.

Meeting the Guru, the path to the One becomes smooth and easy.

I sing and remember the One with love, and drink in the One's sweet taste.

The One has written this gift on my forehead.

A good guide can make a hard path turn smooth and walkable.
The deeper layer

Meeting the Guru makes the road to the One smooth and easy.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. PaaDhar baat means a path made smooth and level. Meeting the Guru clears the road, like a friend who shows you the shortcut to school that skips the steep hill.

Har ras is the sweet taste of the One, enjoyed slowly and gladly. Likhay lilaat means "written on the forehead." It is an old way of saying a gift was meant for you. Here it points to a life gently pulled toward its true home.

A Question to Sit With

Who has made something difficult feel much easier for you?
