Servant Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary; please bless him with the Guru's Teachings, that he may vibrate and meditate on the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam. ||2||3||9||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
O kind One, You hold up the whole universe. You are the Creator of all — it is You, You, You. Raam, Raam, Raam.
Nanak says: I, Your servant, come to Your shelter. Please give me the Guru's teaching, so I can sing and remember You — Raam, Raam, Raam.
The same One holds up the whole world and shelters each small heart.
The One who holds up the whole world is also the shelter you can run to.
Sabh sisat Dhaar: You hold up all creation. Sabh too too too: it is all You, You, You, the One in everything sung as glad repetition. Sarnaagatee means coming for shelter. Nanak asks for gurmatee, the Guru's teaching, as the gift that keeps the singing going.
