In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

In the Sangat, the true company, speak of the wisdom of the One.

Remember the perfect, highest Light, the Lord above all, and honor comes to you.

Wisdom grows when it is spoken and shared in the Sangat.
The deeper layer

Speak of the One's wisdom together in the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — and remembering the One brings honor.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. It opens a new House (Ghar 3) with the Ik Onkar invocation. Kathee-ai satsang parabh gi-aan: speak of the One's wisdom in the Sangat. Pooran param jot parmaysur: the perfect, highest Light. Simrat paa-ee-ai maan: remembering, you gain honor. Wisdom here is something shared aloud among people, like a campfire everyone sits around.

A Question to Sit With

What is something worth talking about together rather than keeping to yourself?
